What is the Paleo diet?
Greatly simplified the Paleo diet is the appropriate nutrition for humans. It includes lots of vegetables, high-quality meats, some fruits, no grains or sugars. In a nutshell, if you want to eat healthy or lose weight you need to change your diet. There are many diets out there and most of them aren’t really good for you in long run nor you’ll be able to maintain them for long. Those diets lack all scientific basis, are unhealthy, doesn’t offer permanent solution or they are very complicated. The approach on Paleo diet is very different because it is based on the latest research results in the fields of evolution, biology, archeology and medication.
Who, how, when?
The Paleo diet or Paleolithic diet describes a very simpleand proven food plan that has been proved to be working over the period of hundreds of thousands of years. In theory and in practice it leads to ideal weight, optimal health and provides better peak performance. In the Paleo diet the focus is on quality, not in the quantity of food. It is not a sophisticated plan but the natural diet of a human. It has nothing to do with imitating the life in the Stone Age.
What is it based on?
The Paleo diet is based on the diet of our hunter-gatherer ancestors (hence the name Paleolithic diet). It includes meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Users of the Paleo diet eat in the exact same way the evolution in millions of years has made the human to eat. Therefore the people using the Paleo diet are exceptionally powerful, slim and healthy.
Are there any weaknesses on the Paleo Diet?
Well, the people have eaten very differently on the stone ages. That is because of the greatly varying climates and geographical conditions. There is no exact way to know what was eaten in what exact time period but we know the overall frame. One thing is sure though, Paleo diet’s concept isn’t a skin or slim body but rather than a good starting point and balanced body and life. No more and no less. Customized diets made personally in some cases may still be better option but the basis as I said is bulletproof in the Paleo diet.
By omitting a few food groups (mainly grain and sugars), the Paleo diet can easily help to avoid metabolic and autoimmune diseases, including diabetes and multiple sclerosis or acne. Especially wonderful is the fact that the Paleo diet doesn’t demand any complex counting, measuring or weighing. It is easy and powerful. For people who want to lose weight in a healthy way, the Paleo diet is the diet to choose. Numerous scientifically reviewed studies support the role of the Paleo diet’s role on the human metabolism. Renowned researchers such as Loren Cordain or Boyd Eaton have researched and explored the theories of the Paleo diet for a quarter of a century, including the way it was implanted back in the day with our ancestors but not excluding the real life research.
Paleo diet makes sense as a base diet, it doesn’t harm you and it makes you healthier in all physical aspects. It is a good starting point for your own experiments.
